Several months ago, Nissan promised that this week's L.A. auto show would play host to the debut of its strangest product to date—yes, weirder than the Cube or even the Juke—the Murano convertible. It looks like the company will deliver on the promise, posting a single image on its Facebook wall of the Murano CrossCabriolet and calling it "the world's first all-wheel-drive crossover convertible." We await the announcement of follow-up products such as the world's first flying lawn mower with a deployable ironing board, or the world's first self-propelled football helmet with an integrated framing nailer and spoon.
Nissan provided few details with the photo aside from the fact that it will have four seats and a "premium-level interior." Notably, the image shows that the vehicle will have just two doors and will do without a basket-handle top support. Nissan says the CrossCabriolet's trunk will accept golf bags with the top up or down. We'll have full details later this week, but for now feast your eyes on the three-decades-delayed competitor to AMC's Eagle Sundancer.
